Terms of Stay
Last updated 15 August 2026 · Mbuni Luxury Lodge, Kiserian–Mbuni, Arusha, Tanzania
The short version
This is a small lodge run on trust. We ask only that you read these terms before booking, that you cancel within the free window when plans change, and that you treat the highlands as kindly as we do.
Booking requests and confirmations
Submitting the booking form creates a request, not a reservation. Our team confirms availability and responds by email — usually within a few hours, always within a day. Your stay is reserved only when we reply with a written confirmation of your dates and room.
Payment
Nothing is charged at the time of your request. Once a reservation is confirmed, we may ask for a deposit or full payment, collected securely through our payment gateway. All rates include applicable taxes; there are no hidden service charges.
Cancellation
Cancellations are free up to 48 hours before check-in, and deposits are refunded in full within that window. For cancellations after the 48-hour mark, the first night is charged. Guests who do not arrive without notice are charged for the first night as well.
Check-in and check-out
Rooms are ready from 2pm on the day of arrival and are ours again by 11am on departure. Early arrivals and late departures are accommodated whenever the housekeeping calendar allows — ask ahead and we will do our best.
Liability
The lodge maintains insurance for its premises and staff, and we take reasonable care of guests and their belongings. Guests are responsible for their own valuables and for their conduct on the grounds. We regret that we cannot be liable for events outside our control — including weather, road conditions and wildlife doing what wildlife does.
Safari bookings
Game drives and safaris arranged through our safari desk are operated by licensed local operators with their own vehicles, guides and terms. The lodge acts as arranger, not operator. When you confirm a safari, the operator's booking and liability terms apply to that portion of your trip.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Questions about any of the above are welcome at any time — write to us through the contact page .
