The short version
We collect only what is needed to look after your stay and to write to you if you ask us to. We never sell your data, we run no advertising trackers on this site, and you can ask us to delete anything we hold at any time.
What we collect
When you make a booking request, we receive your name, email address, phone number, travel dates, party size and any special requests you include. When you use the contact form, we receive your message and the details you add to it. When you join the newsletter, we receive your email address alone.
How we use it
Booking details are used to prepare your stay — assigning a room, arranging transfers, and confirming arrangements by email or phone. Contact messages are used to answer your questions. Newsletter addresses are used only for our seasonal letter, and every one of them carries an unsubscribe link.
Cookies
This site uses a small number of essential cookies — a session cookie and a CSRF token cookie that keep the booking and enquiry forms working safely. We do not use advertising cookies, social media pixels or third-party analytics.
Payments
No payment is taken at the time of a booking request. When a reservation is confirmed and payment is due, it is processed by our payment gateway partner on their secure systems. Card details are entered on the gateway's pages and are never stored on our servers.
Data retention
Booking records are kept for as long as they are useful to the lodge — typically a few years, so we can honour repeat-guest courtesies and keep our availability records straight. Newsletter subscriptions stay until you unsubscribe. You may ask us to delete your records sooner at any time.
Your rights
You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to us through the contact page and we will respond within 30 days.
Third parties
We share data only where the stay itself requires it — with our payment gateway to process a confirmed payment, and with our safari operator partners when you book a safari that they run. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data with anyone else.
